Find large files before storage runs out

SpaceMonger is a Windows disk analysis tool built for one common problem: figuring out where your storage has gone. Instead of making you open folder after folder and guess what is safe to remove, it turns your drives into visual maps that show which files and folders are taking up the most room.

The main view uses a treemap made of nested, colored rectangles. Larger blocks represent larger files or folders, so storage-heavy items stand out quickly. You can zoom into sections, open folders, inspect files, and view details such as name, full path, type, size, and modification date. Hovering over items reveals space usage, while the statistics view gives a broader picture of total, free, and unscannable space, along with file counts and categories such as images, audio, video, and programs.

SpaceMonger also includes pie charts and search tools, which make it easier to compare storage use or locate a specific file. From the interface, you can copy, move, or delete items, so you do not have to constantly switch back to File Explorer. Its delete options are worth noting: you can use confirmations, send items to the Recycle Bin, or choose stricter deletion behavior, which helps reduce the risk of removing something by mistake.

The software is not limited to internal hard drives. It can scan removable media such as USB drives and DVDs, and it also supports online storage accounts including Google Drive, Dropbox, and OneDrive. That makes it useful if your cloud storage is filling up and you want to identify old or oversized files before paying for more space.

The interface is clean, with drives listed on the side and scan details shown in the main area, but there is still a learning curve. The visual layout, log map view, customization settings, colors, fonts, safety options, and scan statistics may take a little time to understand.

SpaceMonger is best for users who want a clear, visual way to manage storage across local and cloud drives. It offers a free trial, but continued use requires a license.
