See where your storage goes at a glance

Scanner is a free Windows utility designed to help you understand how your disk space is being used. Instead of making you open folder properties one by one, it turns your storage into a visual chart, making it easier to spot large folders, crowded directories, and areas that may need attention.

The main feature is its multi-level circular chart, often called a sunburst-style view. Each colored segment represents part of your drive structure, so you can see how folders and subfolders relate to each other in terms of space. Drives and directories are listed from the interface, and you can zoom in or out to inspect specific areas more closely. Hovering over a section reveals useful details such as the folder path, total size, and number of files.

Scanner is especially helpful for everyday cleanup decisions. If your PC is running low on storage, the visual layout can make it clearer where large files or folders are located. It also provides access to Windows’ Add/Remove Programs function, which is convenient if you decide that installed software is taking up too much room.

The program is intentionally lightweight and focused. Its strength is that it does one job clearly: showing how storage is distributed across your PC. That simplicity also defines its main limitation. Scanner does not offer advanced reporting tools, detailed statistical exports, or broad system diagnostics. Users who need printable reports or deeper analysis may find it too basic.

For most home users, though, Scanner is a practical helper. It is best suited to people who want a quick visual understanding of disk usage without digging through Windows menus. If you prefer simple tools that show the problem rather than overwhelm you with options, Scanner is a useful choice for managing storage more confidently.
