Pinterest is a social media app that allows people to organize articles, images and videos. Android users save and manage content that they find on the platform on pages known as boards. Each piece of content is known as a pin. Users find pins on home and topic screens and via text searches. Users typically create their boards based on interests, ideas, crafts and educational topics.
They can lock boards with saved pins for their own private viewing or share individual pins and boards with specific users and the public. They can add likes or comments to pins and boards as well. They can even send other users messages. A board creator also receives notifications when someone likes or comments on their boards.
Both personal and business users can set up Pinterest accounts. They log in direct via a Pinterest login name and password or by linking the app to their Google or Facebook login and password.
The Pinterest user interface is modern and simplistic, which allows users to focus on the content better. Colorful pins are displayed on a clean, white background on the home, topic search and board screens. Users choose, save and manage content by tapping individual pins and small buttons.
