Super Smash Flash 2 is a fan-made action fighting game for Windows that recreates the basic feel of a platform brawler while widening the character list beyond one universe. Created by Gregory McLeod, it is clearly built for players who enjoy fast, knock-out focused battles rather than traditional health-bar fighting.

The main idea is easy to understand. Instead of draining an opponent’s life bar, you build up their damage percentage by landing attacks. The higher that number gets, the easier it becomes to launch them off the stage and score a KO. This makes matches feel energetic and readable, even for players who are not deeply familiar with fighting games.

Controls are keyboard-based. Player 1 uses WASD for movement, with O for special moves and P for standard attacks. Player 2 uses the arrow keys for movement, plus number pad keys for attacks. It is a practical setup for local play, though users who prefer more modern control options may find it basic.

The game offers several ways to fight. Time mode rewards the player with the best score before the clock runs out, while Stock mode gives each player a set number of lives. Classic mode adds a more structured solo path with CPU battles, bonus rounds, and a final boss fight. There is also All-Star mode, where you face the roster across multiple rounds with limited survival resources, plus training, arena, single-player, multiplayer, and online options.

Its biggest appeal is the roster. Alongside characters tied to Nintendo appearances, Super Smash Flash 2 includes well-known figures from other franchises, such as Goku, Ichigo, and Naruto. Some characters are available immediately, while others must be unlocked. The pixel art style also gives the game a distinct fan-project charm.

The main drawback is variety. Most of the experience still revolves around battling, so players looking for deeper progression or broader activities may lose interest after the novelty fades. Some in-game glitches are also noted. Even so, for fans of crossover platform fighting, Super Smash Flash 2 remains an accessible and entertaining choice.
