Across 17 areas, players move between places such as Xandar, Siberia, Medieval England, and other settings tied together by Kang the Conqueror’s plan. The story brings in several Marvel heroes, including the Guardians of the Galaxy, Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Captain America, with events gradually connecting around Kang’s Citadel.

For fans of Marvel and LEGO’s playful style, the game has clear appeal. The large hero roster gives players plenty of familiar faces to use, and the shifting locations help the adventure feel varied. Its tone is also in line with what many expect from LEGO games: colorful, humorous, and built around recognizable characters in exaggerated situations.

However, the experience is not as accessible as it first appears. The plot can feel overstuffed, especially as it jumps between timelines and hero groups. Controls may also be confusing, and combat can become messy rather than satisfying.
