Fortnite has you drop into an open world with tens of other players and fight to be the last one standing. Players can join up with their friends on a variety of devices or jump into the action by themselves.

Once you start a match and land at any location on the map, you'll be tasked with looting for weapons and supplies. You're able to build a loadout with a variety of weapons, like shotguns, SMGs, assault rifles, grenade launchers, and more.

After you've built up your loadout, it's time to get into battles. You'll be able to face off against players in combat with both your weapons and building abilities, allowing you to duck from combat or create towers to get the jump on an enemy. Each building block can be upgraded with various types of materials, making them last longer from enemy fire.

Along with being able to use weapons and building abilities, you're able to drive around in a variety of vehicles. Each vehicle allows you to get around the map quickly with some, like the tank, allowing you to take out enemies. You can also just cruise around the map with style as you listen to the radio stations filled with licensed music.

If you ever get bored of the standard Battle Royale mode, it could be time for you to jump into Creative. This is a mode where players are allowed to create custom maps and game modes using thousands of assets from Fortnite. You can invite your friends to join you through your friend's list or give you a code to allow them to play your creations at any time.

Through both of these modes, you can show off your customized character. By earning V-Bucks through the Battle Pass or purchasing them with real money, you can get skins based on new Fortnite characters, movie characters, real-life people, and more.

Overall, you shouldn't skip out on this game if you like the battle royale genre even just a little bit. The only downside for a lot of players is the emphasis on building gameplay, something a lot of third-person shooter fans will not care for at all.
