Multiplayer support for up to 60 players makes it especially appealing for groups that want to collaborate on large projects or create shared sandbox challenges.

Recent physics and building updates add useful improvements. Stacked creations behave more reliably, loose items react more naturally, and wedge versions of block materials allow more detailed shapes. Extra creative options, such as Farmbot Target Parts, open-and-close curtains for windows, and spaceship parts in Creative mode, give builders more room to personalize their worlds.

The trade-off is that Scrap Mechanic can be demanding when projects become very large or complex, with possible lag and instability. It also does not provide especially clear direction, so new players may need patience while learning how the tools and mechanics fit together.

Overall, Scrap Mechanic is best for players who enjoy tinkering, testing ideas, and learning through trial and error. If you want a structured campaign with constant guidance, it may feel loose.
