Powerful ISO editing and disc burning for Windows
PowerISO is a practical Windows utility for people who regularly work with disc image files, especially ISO files. It brings several related tasks into one place: opening image files, extracting their contents, editing them, burning them to disc, mounting them as virtual drives, and creating bootable USB drives.
The software supports more than just ISO. It can handle formats such as DAA, NRG, BIN, and CDI, which makes it useful if you deal with older backups, disc copies, or files created by different tools. It also works with CDs, DVDs, and Blu-ray discs, so it is not limited to one type of media.
Everyday use is fairly direct. You can add, delete, rename, or modify files inside an image, include boot information, split or compress image files, and burn files or folders directly to a disc. Drag-and-drop support and clipboard copying help make basic file handling feel familiar. PowerISO can also mount images to virtual drives, with support for multiple virtual drives, which is helpful when you want to access an image without burning it first.
There are some useful extras too. The program can create bootable USB drives, erase rewritable discs using full or quick erase modes, rip audio CDs, and convert image files, including ISO to BIN and other supported formats to ISO. These features make it more than a simple disc burner.
The main drawback is that processing can feel slow. The free version also has an important limitation: it does not allow editing or creating image files larger than 300 MB, although it has no time limit. To unlock the full feature set, a paid version is required. There is also no portable version.
PowerISO is best suited for Windows users who need a dependable all-in-one tool for ISO management, disc burning, virtual drives, and bootable media creation. Casual users may only need it occasionally, but for anyone handling disc images often, its broad feature set is genuinely useful.
