Explore Vice City in GTA San Andreas
GTA: San Vice Mod is a free Windows mod for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas that brings much of Vice City into the San Andreas experience. Instead of replacing the game with a completely new title, it expands the world you already know by adding a custom recreation of Vice City’s streets, landmarks, and atmosphere.
The main appeal is simple: you keep the San Andreas framework while gaining access to a familiar setting from another GTA classic. You still play as Carl Johnson, and the core narrative remains tied to San Andreas, so this is not a full Vice City remake and it does not let you step into the role of Tommy Vercetti. Even so, the added map gives long-time players a fresh reason to return, especially if they enjoy exploring more than following a strictly new campaign.
The mod also includes extra touches beyond the map itself, such as additional vehicles, weapons, and character models. Visually, it does a respectable job of blending the two game worlds, with Vice City’s recognizable look fitting into the San Andreas engine in a mostly coherent way. Audio transitions between areas are handled well, which helps the combined setting feel less awkward.
That said, GTA: San Vice Mod has the rough edges you might expect from a fan-made expansion. Some textures can appear inconsistent, collision issues may crop up, and occasional glitches can interfere with mission flow. Voice quality is also not always even, so players expecting a fully polished official-style experience may find parts of it uneven.
Overall, GTA: San Vice Mod is best suited to San Andreas fans who want a nostalgic change of scenery and are comfortable with a few technical imperfections. It is not a complete conversion of Vice City, but as an ambitious map-focused expansion, it adds meaningful variety and makes exploration feel new again.
