Manage Windows dual boot menus with ease

EasyBCD is a practical Windows utility for users who need more control over what happens when their PC starts. Instead of editing boot settings through command-line tools, it gives you a visual way to manage the Windows Boot Configuration Data, making dual boot setups easier to understand and adjust.

The software is mainly designed for creating and managing multiple boot entries on one computer. You can add operating systems such as Windows, Linux, BSD, macOS, and older Windows-based systems, then choose which one appears in the boot menu. It also lets you rename entries, remove ones you no longer need, change their order, and set a default system.

EasyBCD is useful beyond basic dual booting. It can create boot entries for recovery tools, safe mode, ISO images, USB drives, CDs, internal disks, and virtual drives. That makes it handy if you want a repair option available before Windows loads, or if you regularly work with different boot media. It also includes backup and recovery-related tools, which can be reassuring when changing startup settings.

The interface is straightforward, with the main tools arranged clearly on the left side. A simple overview helps casual users see what boot entries are present, while a more detailed mode is available for troubleshooting. Some extra utilities are separate companion tools rather than core built-in features, so not everything is contained in one place.

There are important limits. On newer systems using UEFI and Secure Boot, non-Windows operating systems may not load from the EasyBCD menu without additional changes, such as changing firmware settings, using a virtual machine, or relying on another primary boot manager. Also, because boot settings are sensitive, incorrect changes can cause startup problems.

EasyBCD is best for confident home users, testers, and anyone maintaining a multi-boot Windows PC. It is free for personal, non-commercial use, but commercial use requires a license.
