Microsoft Word: Edit Documents

Microsoft Word for Android is a mobile version of the incredibly popular word processing application. It allows users to create, view, and edit Word documents from their phones and tablets. The app can be used for basic text editing, but it also supports more advanced features, such as adding pictures and graphs into documents. Layout and formatting can be adjusted using menus very similar to those of the desktop PC version.

Popular utilities like the spell checker are also included. PDF compatibility is built-in, providing the option to save documents in the PDF file format as well as the ability to convert PDF files to Word documents for editing. The app can be linked to a user's Microsoft account for even more functionality. Linking the app provides access to cloud storage, collaboration tools, version control, and other premium features.

Though the app sacrifices little in exchange for portability, it is not a full replacement for its feature-rich PC counterpart. Support is limited for things like manipulating images and editing multiple documents simultaneously. Overall, however, the app includes all of the essentials and a variety of special tools which should easily meet the needs of most users.
