Tactical SWAT shooter with solo and co op missions
Ready or Not is a premium tactical first-person shooter for Windows built around tense police operations in the fictional city of Los Sueños. Instead of treating every mission like a simple shootout, it asks you to think like a SWAT team member: assess rooms, manage threats, protect hostages, and complete objectives under pressure.
The main single-player mode, Commander Mode, places you in charge of four AI teammates. From the police station hub, you can adjust your loadout, test weapons at the firing range, and use a training area before starting missions. There are 18 missions available, and the procedural elements help keep encounters from feeling completely predictable, with enemy placement and objectives changing between attempts.
The game’s strongest appeal is its tactical structure. Weapons and gear are not just cosmetic choices; they shape how you approach each situation. Careful coordination, timing, and restraint matter, especially when civilians or hostages are involved. For players who enjoy slower, more deliberate action, this gives Ready or Not a serious and focused feel.
Co-op multiplayer is where the experience is likely to work best. Playing with other people makes communication and planning more natural, and it helps avoid some of the frustrations found in solo play. Commander Mode can still be engaging, but the AI teammates may behave inconsistently, which can make already difficult missions feel harsher than intended.
That difficulty is the biggest thing to consider before buying. Ready or Not is punishing, and new players may need patience before its systems start to click. It is best suited to players who want a demanding tactical shooter rather than a casual action game. If you are willing to learn its pace and accept its rougher AI moments, it offers a tense and thoughtful SWAT experience.
