Profiles can be changed manually or tied to specific apps and games, which makes it easier to switch between work, browsing, and play once everything is configured.

Lighting control is another key reason to use Synapse 3. Razer Chroma integration lets you sync RGB effects across supported keyboards, mice, headsets, and some third-party products through Chroma Connect. The lighting editor supports dynamic effects that can react to gameplay, system events, or user input, making it especially appealing if you already own several Razer devices.

The software is not without drawbacks. The interface looks modern, but first-time users may find it awkward in places because there are many settings to navigate. It can also use a noticeable amount of RAM, and the source notes occasional lag or freezing. Compatibility is another consideration: some older Razer hardware is not fully supported, which may require using Synapse 2 alongside Synapse 3.

A welcome privacy improvement is that local access no longer requires creating an account. You can use the software anonymously to configure hardware, while cloud profiles remain useful for users who want settings synced.
