Rayman Legends brings dazzling platform action to Windows
Rayman Legends is a colorful 2D platform game for Windows that builds on the charm and precision of the Rayman series. It follows Rayman and his friends through a large adventure set across varied worlds, including underwater areas, medieval settings, and Mexican-inspired stages. Levels are accessed through paintings, giving the game a playful hub-style structure that makes it easy to move between challenges.
The core experience is simple to understand: run, jump, attack, dodge hazards, and collect rewards. New players should feel comfortable within minutes, but that does not mean the game is always easy. Some stages demand sharp timing and patience. Helpfully, you are not forced to master every tough section immediately, so you can move forward and return later.
One of the strongest parts of Rayman Legends is its generous amount of content. There are around a hundred levels, plus unlockable extras, bonus stages linked to the previous game’s worlds, scratch cards, and small creatures to collect. Players who like completing everything will have plenty to do, while more casual users can simply enjoy the main journey.
Multiplayer is another major highlight. Up to four players can take part on the same screen or online, and the game allows different roles rather than making everyone do the same thing. One player may control a character while another interacts with platforms, ropes, or enemies. This makes it more welcoming for mixed-skill groups. The Kung Foot mini-game adds a light competitive option when you want a break from the story.
Visually, Rayman Legends stands out with hand-drawn-style artwork, lively animation, and detailed stage design that often feels like controlling an animated cartoon. The music is also closely tied to the action, with memorable musical stages that work especially well in multiplayer.
The main limitation is that it does not dramatically reinvent the formula established by Rayman Origins. If you wanted a completely new direction, it may feel familiar. For most players, though, Rayman Legends is an excellent choice: accessible, polished, packed with secrets, and especially enjoyable for platform fans and groups playing together.
