Eight new Balkan countries for ETS2 drivers
Euro Truck Simulator 2 - West Balkans is a map expansion for Euro Truck Simulator 2 on Windows, aimed at players who want more roads, cities, scenery, and delivery options within the same relaxed trucking framework. It is not a standalone game, but an add-on to the main ETS2 experience.
The expansion adds the western Balkans region to the game’s large-scale version of Europe, covering eight countries and giving drivers a noticeably different setting from many existing routes. Its biggest appeal is environmental variety. You can move from coastal roads to mountain areas, then into busier urban zones, with new road networks and recognizable landmarks helping the region feel distinct.
In practical terms, West Balkans expands the core loop of ETS2 rather than changing it. You still take jobs, drive licensed trucks, manage deliveries, and grow your transport business. The difference is that the new countries bring fresh industries, which means more cargo types and more reasons to plan routes through this part of the map. For players who enjoy the logistics side as much as the driving, that added variety is useful.
The DLC also launched alongside a World of Trucks community event, with themed rewards such as cabin accessories, paint jobs, and a special tortoise item tied to deliveries. These extras are nice touches for regular players, though the long-term value of the expansion mainly comes from the map itself.
Visually, the new scenery can be very appealing, especially for players who like slower, scenic drives. However, this expansion does not fix every visual issue from the base game. In particular, anti-aliasing limitations may still be noticeable, depending on what already bothers you in ETS2.
Overall, Euro Truck Simulator 2 - West Balkans is best for existing fans who want a substantial new driving region and more delivery variety. If you enjoy ETS2’s calm, route-based structure, this is a solid expansion. If you are looking for new mechanics or a major technical overhaul, it is more of a content addition than a transformation.
