Double Driver is a practical Windows utility for making safety copies of the drivers already installed on a PC. Its purpose is simple: scan the system, show the drivers it finds, and let you back them up so they can be restored later if Windows is reinstalled, the computer crashes, or original driver discs are no longer available.

The interface is plain and easy to understand. After scanning the current system, Double Driver presents a list of detected drivers with useful details such as name, version, date, provider, class, and setup information. From there, you can choose all drivers or select only the ones you care about. This is especially helpful for non-standard hardware such as printers, controllers, or other devices that may not be included with Windows by default.

Backup options are flexible. You can save driver files to a location of your choice, including a USB drive, network folder, or other storage destination. The program can also save driver information as a text file, print the list, or create a self-executable backup that helps restore drivers more easily later. The Restore tab is similarly direct: locate an existing backup, select the drivers, and restore them.

Everyday usability is one of Double Driver’s strengths. It does not try to be a full maintenance suite, and that makes it less intimidating. The tabs for Backup, Restore, Save, Clear, and Print keep the workflow clear, even for users who are not comfortable managing drivers manually.

There are important limits to understand. Double Driver is not a driver updater, so it will not search for newer versions or fix outdated drivers. It is also only for Windows, and the software has been discontinued, which may matter to users who prefer actively maintained tools.

Overall, Double Driver is best for Windows users who want a simple backup plan for existing drivers, especially before reinstalling the system or making major changes. It is not modern or expansive, but for saving and restoring driver copies, it remains a focused and useful utility.
