Amazon Prime Video gives Prime members access to Amazon's regularly updated television and movie catalog. Members enjoy a wide range of entertainment options on their Android devices. Content includes ad-free seasons of syndicated shows from a variety of television networks, old and new mainstream and independent films, some ad-supported content from IMDb and original content made or distributed only by Amazon.

Amazon Prime members can search for their favorite shows and movies by name and topic categories using a text search field. Amazon also uses an algorithm to makes suggestions based on user interests and past viewing choices via swaths of horizontal carousels on the Home screen and a vertical-scroll search results list.

Although the Prime Video app doesn't display content from all popular streaming services and region restrictions exist, Amazon does offer an à la carte paid subscription feature in which users can pay extra for access to many different popular cable and other streaming services. Users can also enjoy free trials and sample content as it becomes available before they subscribe. Additionally, the app offers some live sports and new release movie rental options.

Parents can even restrict the type of content that their children access via a user-friendly interface in their account settings.
